Polnareff's most defining trait is his honor. His first appearance has him handicap himself on purpose by explaining his ability. Adopting a chivalrous mindset, Polnareff is reluctant to flee from a fight or use dishonorable tactics, although he can be persuaded if the opponent is one he hates like Vanilla Ice. Polnareff lost two fingers on his left hand. He lost both his legs when he was fighting Diavolo and now sits in a wheelchair. He has becomed more serious, determined after fighting DIO.
