Isabella Valentine

Isabella Valentine, better known as Ivy, is a woman with a tragic past. She is the illegitimate daughter of the undead pirate Cervantes de Leon. Her father became obsessed with the cursed sword, Soul Edge, and it led to his death and her mother's. Determined to destroy the sword, Ivy created a segmented, animated blade-whip. However, Soul Edge turned her into its pawn and intended to use her as its next host. After an attack by Cervantes resulted in the loss of her soul, Ivy used a temporary artificial one to keep herself alive. She continues to pursue the cursed sword in order to destroy it once and for all. Ivy is a strong and attractive character who has been praised by critics for her sex appeal. However, her oversexualization has also been a point of contention. Despite this, Ivy remains one of the most popular characters in the Soulcalibur series.
