
Hajime SAITO
Hajime Saito is a Japanese anime director and writer. He is best known for his work on the Space Battleship Yamato series.
Saito was born in Tokyo in 1948. He studied animation at the Tokyo University of the Arts. After graduating, he worked as an animator for several studios, including Toei Animation and Sunrise.
In 1974, Saito directed his first anime film, Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato: In the Name of Love. The film was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to launch the Space Battleship Yamato franchise.
Saito continued to work on the Space Battleship Yamato series throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He also directed other anime series, such as Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202 and Star Blazers: The Comet Empire.
