Gideon

Gideon, also known as Jerubbaal and Jerubbesheth, was a military leader, judge, and prophet who led the Israelites to victory over the Midianites. He was the son of Joash, from the Abiezrite clan in the tribe of Manasseh, and lived in Ephra (Ophrah). Gideon was a reluctant leader at first, but he eventually agreed to lead the Israelites after receiving a sign from God. He led a troop of 300 "valiant" men to victory against a much larger Midianite army. After the battle, Gideon became a judge in Israel and ruled for forty years. He is remembered as a great military leader and a man of faith.
