Gerald Ford

Gerald Ford was born in Nebraska in 1913. He was a star football player in high school and went on to play at the University of Michigan. After college, he joined the Navy and served during World War II. After the war, he became a lawyer and entered politics. He was elected to Congress in 1948 and served for 25 years before being appointed Vice President by Richard Nixon in 1973. When Nixon resigned in 1974, Ford became President. He was known for his humor and his ability to connect with people. He was also a skilled football player, earning the nickname "Gerry Ford the Hardest Working Man in Show Business." Despite his athletic abilities, he was often criticized for his clumsiness, including a famous incident where he fell down while playing football at the White House. Despite the setbacks, Ford remained determined and dedicated to his work, serving as President until 1977.
