Emam Khomeini was born in 1902 in the small village of Khomein, located in the central part of Iran. From a young age, he was known for his intelligence and his passion for religious studies. He spent many years studying in the holy city of Qom, where he became a respected scholar and a leading figure in the Islamic revival movement that was sweeping across Iran at the time.
