In the year 1550, Japan is in the midst of a civil war. The young lord Daigo Kagemitsu is desperate for power, and he makes a pact with 12 demons in exchange for victory. The demons take Daigo's newborn son, Hyakkimaru, and steal his body parts. Hyakkimaru is left for dead, but he is rescued by a doctor who gives him prosthetics. Years later, Hyakkimaru sets out on a journey to find the demons who took his body parts and to reclaim them. He is accompanied by Dororo, a young thief who joins him on his quest. Along the way, they encounter a variety of characters, both good and evil. Hyakkimaru and Dororo's journey is a tale of revenge, redemption, and self-discovery. It is a story about the power of hope and the strength of the human spirit.
