Chico

Chico Nejishiki is a young boy who lives in a small village in the mountains. He is a kind and gentle soul, but he is also very shy. One day, Chico is walking in the forest when he comes across a strange bird. The bird is injured, and Chico takes it home with him to nurse it back to health. As Chico cares for the bird, the two of them become close friends. The bird tells Chico that its name is Piu, and that it is from a faraway land. Chico is fascinated by Piu's stories, and he begins to dream of traveling the world. One day, Piu tells Chico that it is time for him to go home. Chico is sad to see Piu go, but he knows that the bird must return to its own world. Piu promises to come back and visit Chico someday, and then it flies away. Chico is heartbroken, but he knows that he will never forget Piu. He continues to dream of traveling the world, and he hopes that one day he will be able to find Piu again.
