Ask and Embla

In the beginning, there was only the void. Then, the gods came and created the world. They made the sun, the moon, the stars, and the trees. They made the mountains and the seas. And they made the first two humans, Ask and Embla. Ask and Embla were made from wood. Ask was made from an ash tree, and Embla was made from an elm tree. They were beautiful and strong, and they were filled with wonder at the world around them. The gods took pity on Ask and Embla, and they decided to give them gifts. Odin gave them intelligence, so that they could learn and grow. Vili gave them emotions, so that they could feel joy and sorrow. And Vé gave them free will, so that they could choose their own path in life. Ask and Embla were grateful for the gifts of the gods, and they vowed to use them wisely.
