Arisu Ryohei is a 17-year-old boy who lives in a small coastal town. He's always been an outsider, never quite fitting in with the other kids. He's always been interested in the ocean and its creatures, spending most of his free time exploring the beach and tide pools. Arisu is kind-hearted and compassionate, but he lacks confidence in himself. He's always felt like he's not good enough, and he struggles to make friends.
