Arakawa is a butler who works for the Suzumiya family. He is a tall, thin man with grey hair and facial hair. He is a skilled cook and is very loyal to the Suzumiya family. He is often seen in the background of the anime, but he does play a role in the story. He is a good friend to Kyon and Haruhi, and he is always there to help them out.
