In the early 1900s, Austria-Hungary and German Empire were two of the most powerful nations in Europe. They had a long history of alliances and partnerships, and their relationship was one of mutual respect and admiration. However, things took a turn when Austria-Hungary's heir apparent, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, was assassinated in Sarajevo in 1914. This event sparked a chain of events that led to the outbreak of World War I.
